A 33-year-old woman on Monday was remanded under the custody of the Correctional Services Department after appearing in court charged with the murder of her five-year-old son.

No plea was taken at West Kowloon Magistracy and the case was adjourned to November 28.

The magistrate had initially ordered her to be remanded at Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre, but changed the order after her lawyer claimed she was pregnant.

The boy was found unconscious with multiple injuries in a sub-divided flat in Sham Shui Po on Saturday and died after being taken to the hospital.
