The Hong Kong section of the high-speed rail network is expanding its reach on the mainland, with 16 new direct destinations added from Monday. Commuters now have more options when they travel to eastern China, as well as Guangdong and Fujian provinces. Hailey Yip has the details.
HK to launch hepatitis B screening programme  Listenfacebook
Hong Kong will launch a hepatitis B screening programme next month, with the aim of identifying people linked to known carriers of the virus. Around 300,000 eligible residents can undergo a free rapid diagnostic test. According to government data, roughly 410,000 are believed to be living with chronic hepatitis B. Four in 10 of them remain undiagnosed. Commissioner for Primary Healthcare Pang Fei-chau said the pilot programme aims to strengthen early detection, and enhance protection for these high-risk groups. He spoke to Elvis Yu.

France takes first step to ban under-15s from social media  Listenfacebook
French lawmakers on Monday took a first step towards banning children under 15 years old from social media over growing concerns about online bullying and mental health risks. The lower National Assembly backed key elements of the bill in a first vote after a lengthy debate. A second vote on the full text is to follow later.
