Angus Ho, executive director of Greeners' Action, says after the Covid pandemic, many recyclers had economic problems and it was time for the government to help the industry survive. After 17 days trapped inside a collapsed Himalayan road tunnel they were building, Indian workers have been describing the horror of their ordeal after they were rescued on Tuesday night. Speaking to media, many said they were unsure if they would be saved. The Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, praised the courage and patience of the construction workers and the bravery of those involved in the massive rescue operation.
