Chief Executive John Lee has called on civil servants to vote in the upcoming District Council elections, noting that they are sworn to support the government in implementing its policies. Speaking at an event to drum up support for Sunday's elections among civil servants and their families, the CE described the polls as the "last mile" in improving the electoral system after social unrest in 2019. The Biden administration has unveiled its final rules on cracking down on methane emissions from the oil and gas industry. The rules have been two years in the making and were announced at the Cop28 climate summit that is underway in Dubai. The methane regulations are among several US initiatives to fight global warming.
