A medical professor says children aged under 18 should keep up-to-date with their Covid vaccinations, despite the government recommending regular jabs only for the immuno-compromised or those aged over 50. Paediatrician Mike Kwan, from the University of Hong Kong's School of Public Health, said the jabs would boost the population's herd immunity against Covid. He also said since the mask mandate was dropped in March and cross-border traffic had increased, the city had encountered a number of respiratory viruses. Financial Secretary Paul Chan says a budget deficit in the next financial year is inevitable although authorities will try to prevent it from exceeding three to four percent of the city's GDP.
