Agnes Chow announces plan to skip bail  Listenfacebook
The government says it will make every effort in accordance with the law to pursue a woman accused of national security offences after it was revealed she planned to jump bail. Agnes Chow, who co-founded the now-defunct Demosisto party, said she was in Canada and would not be reporting to police this month. Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said Hong Kong was a law-based society and no one was above the law. Elvis Yu reports:

Respiratory medicine specialist, Leung Chi-chiu, says it is unlikely there will be serious flu outbreaks in the short term amid a spike of cases here. He says Hong Kong's summer flu season has just finished and the winter season may come in February or March. Dr Leung also said it was unnecessary to bring forward the Christmas holidays to prevent outbreaks at schools. He spoke to Vanessa Cheng:
Paediatrician urges youngsters to get Covid jabs  Listenfacebook
A medical professor says children aged under 18 should keep up-to-date with their Covid vaccinations, despite the government recommending regular jabs only for the immuno-compromised or those aged over 50. Paediatrician Mike Kwan, from the University of Hong Kong's School of Public Health, said the jabs would boost the population's herd immunity against Covid. He also said since the mask mandate was dropped in March and cross-border traffic had increased, the city had encountered a number of respiratory viruses. He urged people to maintain good hygiene to help prevent the spread of infections. Dr Kwan spoke to Samantha Butler:
FS says budget deficit 'inevitable'  Listenfacebook
Financial Secretary Paul Chan says a budget deficit in the next financial year is inevitable although authorities will try to prevent it from exceeding three to four percent of the city's GDP. Speaking in Legco, the finance chief said he still expected a 3.2 percent GDP growth for the year. Anne Chan reports:
