A government proposal to streamline the renewal of hundreds of thousands of land leases across Hong Kong will see property owners informed of a successful 50-year extension six years before their leases are set to expire, up from a previous proposal of three years. A survey by a patient support group has found that many cancer patients are turning to the internet for medical advice and that some of them would simply trust information with the most 'likes' or shares - because they don't get enough time to ask their doctors about their illnesses. The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society said it interviewed 236 cancer patients and caregivers - who estimated that they had spent an average of 13 minutes per consultation with doctors in public hospitals, and 24 minutes for private doctors. Mainland exports rose last month for the first time since April - beating forecasts and suggesting factory production may be recovering after a slump in demand at home and abroad. The General Administration of Customs said overseas shipments edged up half-a-percent on-year -- better than the 0.3 percent contraction forecast by analysts in a Bloomberg poll. It also beat the 1.1 percent drop expected in a Reuters survey. Imports, meanwhile, slipped back into contraction - falling 0.6 percent. Societe Generale's Great China Economist, Michelle Lam, says the latest numbers mean domestic demand is still fragile. She first spoke to Damon Pang about the mainland export data:
