A member of the Maritime and Port Board says Hong Kong's future lies in promoting itself as a 'green' and 'smart' port. Willy Lin, chairman of The Hong Kong Shippers’ Council, says the SAR will never again be in the top five busiest container ports in the world, due to regional competition and the transformation of the trade. But he told Samantha Butler that Hong Kong could give itself an edge by providing smart technology, and being one of the few ports in the region to provide green fuel for large container ships:

Daily airport traffic gets a Christmas boost Listen
The Airport Authority says up to 160,000 passengers are expected to go through Hong Kong airport each day during the upcoming Christmas holiday period. It is up from the daily average of 150,000 people, which is three-quarters of pre-pandemic levels. Family dispute suspected after deadly blaze Listen
A man has been killed and six people injured in a fire at Tung Tau Estate in Wong Tai Sin on Wednesday. As Natale Ching reports, police suspect the blaze began after a family dispute:
Gansu quake toll rises to 134 Listen
Rescuers have been digging through rubble in freezing temperatures to look for possible earthquake survivors, with the death toll in the nation's deadliest tremor in years rising to 134. State media said at least 113 people were killed in Gansu province, where the epicentre was, and 21 more died in neighbouring Qinghai. Anne Chan reports:

But these are the words that have been shortlisted by the Hong Kong Observatory on a list of potential typhoon names.
