CLP to submit report following voltage dips Listen
The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department has given CLP Power four weeks to submit a report on a voltage dip on Monday, that led to people being trapped in lifts. Authorities said the incident - which affected Tsuen Wan, Kwai Chung, and Tsing Yi - happened at around 3.15 pm, with police receiving multiple reports of the sound of an explosion at a CLP substation in Tsing Yi. Car seats will 'offer better protection' Listen
The medical-sector lawmaker has welcomed plans to require children aged seven and under to use car seats. The Transport and Logistics Bureau is currently working on drafting amendments with the aim of submitting them to Legco this year. Lawmaker David Lam, who has called for stricter road safety regulations, says children need better protection as adult seatbelts are unsuitable for their size. But he told Samantha Butler that new rules would be difficult to implement in public transport and taxis:
Ways to protect user data in smartphones Listen
This week, Tech Tuesday looks at claims from an American marketing company that it can eavesdrop on people's conversations via their smartphones. Cox Media Group said its "active listening" feature would allow it to deliver personalised ads. The notice caused panic among consumers and the group has since removed the web page that advertised the feature.
