Prosecutors in the trial of former media tycoon Jimmy Lai have told the court that introducing an English version of Apple Daily ahead of the promulgation of the national security law in 2020 was intended to garner financial and political support from outside of Hong Kong, and to lobby for foreign sanctions on Chinese and SAR officials. Researchers from City University say they have found a lot more coral in Victoria Harbour than expected. They say the findings of their study show the water quality had improved in recent years. Violet Wong reports:

The manager of the coral project says he was surprised to find a 'vibrant' community of corals in the harbour where water visibility is 'quite poor'. Jeffrey Chung, a research assistant with City University's State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution, said its scuba divers mapped five important coral habitats along the harbour, with the biggest site at Fat Tong Chau totalling 14 football pitches in size.
