Waste-charging scheme may be shelved Listen

An alliance of six NGOs supporting street sleepers has called on Hongkongers to show more compassion for the homeless. As Violet Wong reports, the group said it was high time the government devised policies to provide street sleepers with better support:
Fair visitors experience life of street sleepers Listen
One of the six NGOs in the alliance, ImpactHK, held a fair in Yau Ma Tei and invited people to sit in a demonstration set-up of cardboards and umbrellas so they could experience what life was like for street sleepers. RTHK reporter Violet Wong was at the fair and spoke to Isaac Ho from ImpactHK:

Youngsters need better family education Listen
The Family Planning Association is calling for better education for young people on family and relationship matters as many appear to have a negative image about becoming parents. A recent survey by the group showed the number of women who did not have children more than doubled from five years ago, to more than 40 percent. But the association's executive director, Mona Lam, said she appreciated the so-called baby bonus of HK$20,000 that the government gave to new parents, as it demonstrated a commitment to addressing the city's low birth rate. FS continues visit to San Francisco Listen

Right-wing parties ditch German AfD Listen
Voters across the European Union go to the polls next month to choose members of the bloc's Parliament and analysts expect an increase in support for far-right parties. But the Alternative for Germany party (AfD) has been abandoned by other right-wing groups after its leader Maximilian Krah told an Italian newspaper that not all members of Germany's Nazi paramilitary SS force were necessarily criminals. He cited the famous German author Gunther Grass. RTHK's UK correspondent, Gavin Grey, told Annemarie Evans that the comments would make it difficult for Krah to represent the party:
Live Nation accused of suffocating competitors Listen
The US government is seeking to break up Live Nation Entertainment, accusing it of operating a monopoly and suffocating competition. In 2010, the Department of Justice approved the merger of Live Nation, the country’s largest concert promoter, and Ticketmaster, the nation’s biggest ticket seller, creating the powerful Live Nation Entertainment. RTHK's Washington correspondent, Barry Wood, says it now seems to regret that decision. He explained the lawsuit to Samantha Butler:
Mattel unveils Barbie sports dolls Listen
Toy maker Mattel has unveiled Barbie dolls in the likeness of prominent sportswomen, shining a light on them as role models ahead of the Paris Olympics.
