Retail sales drop 11.5 percent in May Listen
Retail sales dropped more than 11 percent in May compared with the same month last year. The latest figure extends the losing streak to three months. Data released by the Census and Statistics Department yesterday showed that sales slid to HK$30.5 billion. But as Vanessa Cheng reports, the drop was better than a 14.7 percent fall in April.
