China has won its first-ever gold in the artistic swimming category. There have also been two victories for defending champions in the weightlifting and Team China has secured a rare and surprising medal in hockey. Kelly Yu and Hailey Yip have more on the action from the Paris Olympics:

Team China will look to add a sixth diving medal in the men's three-metre platform on Day 13 at the Olympics. World record holder Luo Shifang goes for victory in the women's 59 kilogramme weightlifting while boxer Chang Yuan takes on Hatice Akbas of Turkey in the women's 54 kilogramme final. Meanwhile, Hong Kong's first Taekwondo Olympian, Lo Wai-fung, makes his debut at the age of 21. Hailey Yip reports from Paris:

Cathay Pacific says it is buying 30 Airbus planes as part of a multi-billion dollar investment plan. The announcement by Hong Kong's flag carrier came as it offered an interim dividend, despite a drop in profit for the first six months of the year. Frank Yung reports:

An aviation expert says he is not surprised by Cathay's lower mid-term profit. Brendan Sobie of consulting firm Sobie Aviation says it is in line with the performance of other carriers and shows that demand is returning to normal. He told Elvis Yu that Cathay's budget arm, Hong Kong Express, has to expand faster and explore new routes on the mainland to become a profit driver:

A judge has rejected the mitigation of a childcare worker facing 49 counts of child abuse. Chiu Wing-sin was one of 34 caregivers who have been charged in connection with a spate of child abuse at a Prince Edward childcare centre three years ago. Elvis Yu reports:

The medical-sector lawmaker says community pharmacies can ease the pressure on public hospitals by separating the dispensing of drugs and medical appointments. Some 16,000 students have received university offers through the centralised Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS). The University of Hong Kong says it has admitted eight elite athletes and 48 non-Chinese speaking students in addition to the four top scorers of local Diploma of Secondary Education exams.
