Cathay begins repair of planes with engine faults Listen
Cathay Pacific's engineering team has identified 15 A350 aircraft that need to have an engine component replaced. As Hailey Yip reports, the airline says three of the planes have already been repaired:

A flight engineering expert says passengers need not worry about aircraft safety in the wake of Cathay's discovery of an engine glitch. Govt hopes volunteering will help new arrivals adapt Listen
The government has launched a programme to make it easier for non-local professionals who have come to Hong Kong through talent schemes to join volunteer services. Anthony Lau is the director of Hong Kong Talent Engage, which offers one-stop support services for incoming professionals to settle in Hong Kong. He told Anne Chan that volunteering would help newcomers integrate into the local community:
Revamped war of resistance museum opens Listen
A revamped museum documenting China's resistance in the Second Sino-Japanese war opens to the public on Wednesday. The Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence focuses on the history of the war and the city's military affairs to cultivate a stronger sense of national esteem and patriotism. MSF adviser shares experience after months in Sudan Listen
It has been more than 500 days since civil war broke out in Sudan and the ongoing violence is creating one of the largest displacement and humanitarian crisis in the world. According to the United Nations, more than 25 million people there are now facing acute hunger. Médecins Sans Frontières, an international medical humanitarian organisation, has been delivering aid on site. Beatrice Lau has returned home to Hong Kong after serving as MSF's representative to Sudan for several months at the start of this year, negotiating with different sides so that the group can go about offering help. She told Damon Pang about her experience and some of the challenges her group faced:
11 killed in bus crash outside school in Shandong Listen
A bus has crashed into a group of people outside a school in the eastern province of Shandong, killing six adults and five students. 13 people were injured, one of them seriously, in Tuesday's accident. Jacqueline Guico reports:

China and South Africa have agreed to promote balanced trade. Meeting in Beijing, the two sides discussed boosting investments between their industrial and commercial communities. China hits Canada with rapeseed anti-dumping probe Listen
A trade dispute between Beijing and Ottawa is heating up, with Canada accused of hurting mainland producers by dumping rapeseed products in the Chinese market. This comes after Canada announced tariffs of 100 per cent on imports of Chinese electric vehicles. Raymond Yeung reports:
At least 12 migrants die after boat sinks in Channel Listen
At least 12 people have died after a migrant boat capsized in the English Channel while attempting to reach Britain from northern France. More than 50 of those who'd been onboard were rescued from the treacherous waterway, with many still receiving treatment. Rescue efforts are ongoing for two more people still missing. As Jamie Clarke reports, it's the worst casualty toll in the Channel this year:

Sheikh Hasina proving diplomatic headache for India Listen
Analysts say Bangladesh's ex-premier Sheikh Hasina has become a diplomatic headache for her hosts in India, four weeks after she fled from her home by helicopter during a student-led revolution. Her iron-fisted tenure came to an end last month as protesters marched on her palace in Dhaka after 15 years characterised by rights abuses and opposition crackdowns. Bangladeshi students who led the uprising are demanding she return from India. RTHK's South Asia correspondent Murali Krishnan told Aaron Tam that it may become untenable for India to keep the former premier:
Pope Francis begins historic trip to Indonesia Listen
Pope Francis has arrived in Indonesia on a visit aimed at boosting interfaith harmony. It is his longest trip yet as Roman Catholic leader and he will tour three other Asian countries after leaving Indonesia. Jacqueline Guico reports:
