Airport bosses to submit report over girl's platform gap fall  Listenfacebook
The Airport Authority says it will submit a report within a month to the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department on an incident where a girl apparently fell down the gap between a platform and an automated train at the airport. A lawmaker said the incident could have been fatal. Kelly Yu reports:

Lawmaker and former railway engineer, Gary Zhang, has expressed concern about the alleged platform gap fall. A video circulating online appears to show passengers rescuing the girl. The incident happened in November. The Airport Authority says any recordings of the event are kept only for a month. Zhang, who chairs Legco's subcommittee on railway matters, told Kelly Yu what should be done to prevent similar incidents:

New giant pandas adapting well to new home: Ocean Park  Listenfacebook
Ocean Park says two pandas given to Hong Kong by the central government are adapting well to their new living environment. They are now one week into their month-long quarantine after arriving from Sichuan. The park said a team of about 30 keepers and vets were taking care of the pandas. One of them is Matt Leung, the park's assistant curator of zoological operations. He told Elvis Yu that An An and Ke Ke were sleeping and eating well:
DAB calls for further stock stamp duty cut  Listenfacebook
The government has been urged to further reduce the stamp duty on stock transactions. As Vanessa Cheng reports, DAB lawmakers say this would make the local stock market more appealing:

The DAB lawmakers made the proposal after Hong Kong dropped out of the top three in terms of funds raised from initial public offerings. Hezbollah says it killed 17 Israeli soldiers in clashes along the border in Southern Lebanon, as Israel continues its ground invasion in the country. The Israeli military has so far confirmed nine deaths. Britain has agreed to hand over sovereignty of the remote but strategically-important Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean to Mauritius. Under the historic deal, which was reached after years of negotiations, Britain will lease the island of Diego Garcia from Mauritius for at least 99 years, ensuring the continuing operation of a joint US and UK military base there. A colossal tunnelling machine deep below the streets of Tokyo is grinding a path through the earth.
