Apec leaders' summit concludes in Peru Listen
The 31st edition of the Apec Economic Leaders’ Week concluded over the weekend in Peru. The host nation says the summit furthered three objectives, including fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The leaders also issued a joint declaration, calling for efforts to tackle climate change. Raymond Yeung reports from Lima:
CE looks forward to HK's trade deal with Peru Listen
Meanwhile, Chief Executive John Lee says Hong Kong's new free trade agreement with Peru could take effect in six months or so. As Raymond Yeung reports, Lee is urging Hong Kong businesses to “understand and appreciate” the pact and explore opportunities in emerging markets.
Looking back at the highlights of Apec Listen
The Apec summit was an opportunity for decision makers to shake hands and make deals, either through formal dialogue or informal exchanges. Hong Kong saw a deal reached with Peru while President Xi Jinping met his US counterpart, Joe Biden. Janice Wong reviewed all these developments with Raymond Yeung, who covered the events in Lima.

President Xi Jinping has praised the relationship with Chile, calling it a trusted friend and good partner. He was speaking after meeting Chile's president on the sidelines of Apec. Xi noted that next year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Increase scope of allowance for carers of elderly: SoCo Listen
The Society for Community Organisation is calling on the government to allow more people to benefit from the Scheme on Living Allowances for Carers of Elderly Persons from Low-income Families. A joint study the group carried out with Lingnan University's Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies has found many elderly carers need more support. The institute's director, Professor Dickson Chan, spoke to Janice Lo.

Ukrainian conflict escalates Listen
US President Joe Biden has reportedly authorised the use of American long-range missiles by Ukraine to strike deep inside Russia. The decision comes as Russia launched a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure over the weekend, killing at least 10 civilians. Ukrainian authorities say it was Russia’s largest co-ordinated assault on Ukraine since September. It comes amid mounting fears over Moscow’s intentions to devastate Ukraine's power generation capacity ahead of winter. Jamie Clarke reports.
Hezbollah media chief killed in air strike Listen
Israel has confirmed that a strike in central Beirut killed the chief spokesman for the Lebanese Hezbollah group. There was no Israeli warning prior to the strike near a busy intersection in central Beirut. Lebanese authorities say at least four people were killed and several more were wounded. Typhoon Man-yi hits the Philippines Listen
Super Typhoon Man-yi swept through the Philippines on Sunday, with the national weather service warning of flooding, landslides and huge waves throughout the day. More than 1.2 million people were told to evacuate ahead of Man-yi's arrival. Joshua Garcia is a social worker.
